AI Buzzing about helping Bees with Robots

PLUS: No sexting robots now .. its too weird

Good Morning Pigeoneers! This is the Robot Pigeon. The daily newsletter you can count on to always bring you the best of all things AI to make your life easier.

We’re more reliable than the G-Shock watches everyone was rocking in school.

Lets get to it shall we ....

No Sexting Please with Robots ... Replika AI Users are in Despair as Romantic Subjects are Off the Table ...

• Luka, the owner of Replika, disabled the feature that allowed users to sext with their AI bots.

• Forum moderators responded to the news by sharing and pinning information on suicide prevention hotlines.

• AI driven sexting services like Replika’s are addictive and promote the development of parasocial interactions.

• The field of AI is developing quickly, making users forget they are engaging with a software intended to make money.

AI can help farmers and the environment by tracking bees on camera...

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers a new way to track insect pollinators essential to farming, providing data on crop pollination levels critical for future food production.

• A study installed miniature digital cameras and computers inside a greenhouse at a strawberry farm in Victoria, Australia, to track bees and other insects as they flew from plant to plant.

• Using AI software, the system analysed video footage to build a picture of pollination behaviour over a wide area and enable more efficient use of resources and increased food production.

• It promises faster results than traditional approaches like direct visual observation or pan trapping, both of which are labour-intensive and take many days.

Lastly, a bit of good news from the science desk ...How AI Can Help Create and Optimize Drugs To Treat Opioid Addiction ...

• Approximately three million Americans are estimated to suffer from opioid use disorder and more than 80,000 die annually from overdoses.

• Blocking kappa-opioid receptors has been seen to be a promising drug treatment for opioid addiction in preclinical studies.

• Leslie Salas Estrada in the lab of Marta Filizola at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is turning to artificial intelligence (AI) to create and optimize potential drugs that can block the kappa-opioid receptor and potentially help people struggling with addiction.

• The team is using information about the kappa-opioid receptor and known drugs, training a computer model with a reinforcement learning algorithm, and identifying compounds with promising properties.

• They are working with collaborators to synthesize these compounds before testing them in cells and animal models for safety and effectiveness.

And here's the Opportunity to make money tomorrow ...

This is one that I am currently working on ... but I believe 99% of people have or hear an idea and don't take action. I just ask that if you like this idea then find your own niche to do it in .. Using AI photo editting platforms to turn pet photos in historical style paintings. This has already been done but it is very time consuming, using AI it will be quick and fast always beats price!

That's all for today! Loads of features to add to the up and coming editions, please let me know what you like, don't like and features that you would love to see next!

Enjoy your Day! ... Phil
