We could actually be talking to Chatbots and not our friends! Thats the new excuse Im using anyway ... as Samsung debuts a Bixby feature that creates an AI-generated copy of a user’s voice to answer calls ...

"Yes Mum its me" .... 

• Samsung introduced "Custom Voice Creator" feature for Bixby, allowing users to customize their voice to answer calls.

• Bixby Text Call now supports English, enabling users to type out a message which will be read out by the AI-generated voice.

• Users can also customize Bixby's wake-up phrase and have Bixby play music that best suits their workout on Samsung Health.

• Bixby can now do certain tasks offline, such as taking screenshots or turning on the flashlight.

AI-created images lose U.S. copyrights in test for new technology...

• The U.S Copyright Office ruled that author of the graphic novel "Zarya of the Dawn", Kris Kashtanova, is entitled to copyright protection for parts of the book she wrote and arranged, but not for images produced by AI system Midjourney.

• The decision is one of the first by a US court or agency on scope of copyright protection for works created with AI.

• The Copyright Office said it would reissue its registration for novel to omit images that are not product of human authorship and therefore cannot be copyrighted.

• Kashtanova called decision great news as it covers lot of uses for people in AI art community.

• Midjourney general counsel Max Sills said decision was a great victory and office is saying that if an artist exerts creative control over image generating tool like Midjourney, output is protectable.

Next sector to get disrupted ... Generative AI Is Coming For the Lawyers ...

• Allen & Overy, a London-based law firm, partnered with OpenAI to use the AI tool Harvey.

• Around 3,500 workers across the company’s 43 offices used the tool in total.

• 80% of lawyers at Allen & Overy use this platform once a month or more.

• Generative AI technology has been touted as the future of search and legal disputes over copyright.

• It is being used for standardized documents and precedents.

• Output from an AI platform needs careful review, while inputs must follow data protection rights.

You can design breath taking user interfaces for websites and apps using combinations of Midjourney, stable diffusion or as mentioned above Uizard. This skill is in high demand on the freelancer platforms and at the time of writing I cant see any AI freelancers on them
