Now and Then: The Beatles Nostalgia Run with AI

A long-awaited Beatles song titled "Now and Then," featuring all four members, is set to be released thanks to AI technology used to enhance the audio in Peter Jackson's documentary "Get Back." The song was originally written and sung by John Lennon in the late 1970s but couldn't be completed due to technological limitations. AI was used to isolate Lennon's vocals, and Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr added new parts. The song will be unveiled on November 2, with a documentary about its making premiering on November 1.

AI Discusses Cocaine and Orgies - Elon Musk's xAI Unveils "Grok"

Elon Musk's company, xAI, has launched an early beta version of "Grok," an AI language model designed to provide humorous and information-rich responses to user queries. Grok integrates real-time data from X (formerly Twitter) and handles questions that other AI systems may decline due to content filters. The model has a sassy personality and aims to offer a unique user experience, but concerns have been raised about its accuracy and potential for misinformation due to X's moderation issues.

OpenAI Developers Day: Summary of all the News

At OpenAI's DevDay event, CEO Sam Altman introduced GPT-4 Turbo, a significant update to the GPT-4 language model. GPT-4 Turbo offers a much larger context length, more up-to-date knowledge up to April 2023, and lower prices compared to GPT-4. OpenAI also launched various APIs, including GPT-4 Turbo with vision, DALL-E 3, and text-to-speech. They introduced an Assistants API, enhancing developers' ability to build agent-like experiences. OpenAI is committed to protecting customers from copyright claims, and they unveiled version 3 of the Whisper model for speech recognition. Altman hinted at even more advanced AI developments in the future.
