Update on yesterdays leak (if anyone's concerned) .. leak stopped while at the office, kitchen ceiling appears to now be quite industrial looking ie pipes and electrics are very much on show. Good news is it didn't stop me enjoying a pot noodle last night!

OpenAI rolls out 'incognito mode' on ChatGPT

• OpenAI announced an “incognito mode” for its hit chatbot ChatGPT yesterday, which does not save users’ conversation history, nor use it to improve its artificial intelligence.

• OpenAI also plans to roll out a “ChatGPT Business” subscription, with additional data controls.

• The move follows scrutiny from Italy, France and Spain over how ChatGPT manages user data.

• Tuesday's product release lets users switch off "Chat History & Training" in their settings and export their data.

• The company will still retain conversations for 30 days before permanently deleting them, and its business subscription will not use conversation histories for AI model training by default.

OpenAI Is Trying Hard to Quickly Trademark 'GPT'

• OpenAI applied for a trademark of "GPT," but the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office denied their request last week.

• According to an attorney, it could now take five months to receive the trademark.

• Also, Stanford and MIT research has found that ChatGPT increased productivity by 35% with the least experienced workers.

Just running ChatGPT is costing OpenAI a huge amount of money every day ...

• ChatGPT is an expensive AI to maintain, costing up to $700,000 per day.

• OpenAI's newest model, GPT-4, would cost even more.

• Microsoft is developing an AI chip internally known as "Athena" which could help reduce the cost of these chips by a third when compared to Nvidia's offerings.

• Last week, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman remarked that "we're at the end of the era" of "giant AI models," so Athena would come just in time.
