• Microsoft introduced Kosmos-1, a multimodal AI model that can analyze images, solve visual puzzles, perform visual text recognition, pass visual IQ tests, and understand natural language instructions.
• The aim of the model is to create artificial general intelligence (AGI).
• Visual examples show the model analyzing images and answering questions about them, reading text from an image, writing captions for images, and taking a visual IQ test.

• D-ID, an Israeli company leveraging AI to create unique experiences such as Deep Nostalgia, announced the launch of a new chat API to enable conversations with AI digital humans.
• The API is currently being offered to enterprises to use for branding and customer experience purposes.
• Using real-time streaming capabilities and text-to-video technology, the API allows developers to showcase photorealistic digital assistants who can interact with consumers in a more human way.
Shortwave email app introduces AI-powered summaries to speed up digesting long emails...
• Shortwave, a Google executives-backed email app, recently introduced an AI-powered summary feature to help users get the gist of long emails or threads quickly.
• The feature was developed using OpenAI's GPT-3 and is available on all platforms in beta for free.
• The company plans to introduce more features in the future, including more summarization methods and semantic search capabilities.
• For basic usage Shortwave is free; power users can pay $9 per month while custom plans are available for teams.
• Shortwave also offers better categorization than Gmail, email grouping based on time, mentioning teammates, pinned emails and support for emoji and GIF responses.
