Wow what a week in the ChatGPT world, we now have 4 major rivals in turbo mode trying to own the new way we will all be searching the web in the very near future ...

Microsoft announces new Bing and Edge browser powered by upgraded ChatGPT ...

•Microsoft has announced a new version of its search engine Bing, powered by an upgraded version of the same AI technology that underpins chatbot ChatGPT.

• The company is launching the product alongside new AI-enhanced features for its Edge browser, promising users a more fluid and quick experience when searching for information online.

• Microsoft demoed “the new Bing” working in various configurations - one with traditional search results side-by-side with AI annotations and another mode allowing users to talk directly to the Bing chatbot like ChatGPT.

• Additionally, two other AI enhanced tools have been added into Edge's sidebar: "Chat" which allows summarizing webpages/documents as well as asking questions about them; and "Compose", acting as a writing assistant helping generate text from emails to social media posts based on starting prompts

Googles Bard aims toi bring the benefits of AI into our everyday life...

•Google reoriented the company around AI six years ago in order to make information universally accessible and useful.

• The scale of AI computations is doubling every six months, far outpacing Moore’s Law.

• Google has unveiled a new experimental conversational AI service called Bard, which draws on web-based knowledge to provide high-quality responses.

• BERT was one of the first Transformer models used by Google for understanding human language; MUM has improved this capability further by being 1,000 times more powerful than BERT and multi-lingual.

• Newer technologies such as LaMDA, PaLM, Imagen and MusicLM are creating entirely new ways to engage with information from language and images to video and audio that will be integrated into products like Search soon.

Baidu reveals plan to launch ChatGPT-style ‘Ernie Bot’

•Baidu's shares surged by 13.48% in Asia’s morning trade to its highest level since mid-Feb 2022 after the company announced it will launch an AI chatbot, named “Ernie Bot” or “Wenxin Yiyan”, which is expected to complete internal testing in March before being made public.

• Ernie stands for "Enhanced Representation through Knowledge Integration" and is described as a large language model capable of handling a wide range of tasks such as language understanding, generation and text-to-image generation.

• Baidu Chief Technology Officer Haifeng Wang emphasized the importance of deep learning at an earlier presentation this year while Chairwoman Hua Wu spoke about artificial intelligence generated content with potential film production applications.

💸 I think a great marketing tool for Hair and Beauty salons would be to invite their clients (and potential clients) to explore AI hairstyles, Eye Brows and Nail Art designs before booking in treatments. This could be done local to the salon using the photos already on someone's phone. Using one of the existing AI tools you could make affiliate earnings by selling this in to salons or take a finders fee for every new client that books in. Basically you introduce and operate the tech for the salon owner
