PLUS: The Start of A.I. Legislation?
Happy Monday team Pigeon! I've got over a quick ski trip and some sort of bug to get back into the world of A.I.
… Look out today for the start of my A.I. generated Ad's and I will share the results in later editions of our favourite Pigeon Post ..
Now ... Lets Start with some News ..
South Korea boosts its AI chip industry with $642M amid ChatGPT frenzy...
• South Korea has earmarked $642.5 million (826.2 billion won) through 2030 to invest in companies working on advanced AI chips.
• This investment will involve building new data centers, and working with AI chip startups and cloud service providers.
• Rebellion, Sapeon Korea, and FuriosaAI have confirmed participation in the bid for the two data centers that are projected to open as early as 2024.
• Samsung and Naver have a strategic partnership to develop AI chips; South Korea aims to develop up to 50 types of AI chips, with the potential of securing 20% of the global AI chip market by 2030.
As fast as A.I. powered search evolves ... The Solicitors are trying to keep up ... The Supreme Court could be about to decide the legal fate of AI search
• Next week, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in Gonzalez v. Google, a case questioning whether algorithmic recommendations should receive Section 230 legal protections.
• AI-powered search engines like Google Bard and Microsoft's Bing are able to generate conversation answers with summaries from across the web, potentially introducing inaccuracies.
• If Section 230 remains unchanged, cases hinge on whether an AI search engine was repeating somebody else's unlawful speech or producing its own - which could risk lawsuits for inaccuracies and defamatory information it passes on.
• A Supreme Court decision on Gonzalez could create precedents for AI search engines that may be specific to 2023 technology and influenced by the current political and cultural climate.
• Though falling outside of Section 230's purview, even copyright infringement could be held against AI search engines if they are found to originatively reproduce content without permission.
Text to Art ... Text to Video ... Now Text to Whole Worlds ..
Roblox wants to let people build virtual worlds just by typing
• Roblox is developing developer tools to enable anyone to virtually generate worlds based on text descriptions.
• It is testing two AI-based implementations: one that creates virtual materials and another that produces code from input.
• The goal is to give creators a beginner's head start, regardless of coding and 3D model design abilities.
• Roblox aims to become the infrastructure for the metaverse with AI tooling like this, making it an attractive platform for novice game developers.
Here's a video explaining the concept ..

Become an A.I. art teacher ... Its easy to start turning text into art but it takes a lot of time to develop the expertise to be able to manipulate the A.I. engine to head in the direction you want it to and to then be able to edit your images well. So if you take the time to learn this skill you can then post your artwork on social media with the call to action to teach people to be able to do the same
That's all for today! Loads of features to add to the up and coming editions, please let me know what you like, don't like and features that you would love to see next!
