• OpenAI has released GPT-4, a powerful AI language model that can accept text and image inputs to output text.

• The model is claimed to be more creative and collaborative than its predecessors, with potential applications in Duolingo, Stripe, Khan Academy, Microsoft Bing, and ChatGPT Plus.

• Though promising, OpenAI has warned not to expect too much from the system as it retains many of the same flaws from earlier models such as "hallucinating" or generating violent/harmful text.

• GPT-4 was also suggested to have multi-modal capabilities supporting text, audio, and video but OpenAI confirmed the model only supports text and image input.

Finally, the news we had all been waiting for ... GM plans to let you talk to your car with ChatGPT, Knight Rider-style

• General Motors is working with Microsoft on introducing a ChatGPT-style AI assistant to its automobiles.

• The AI assistant would allow drivers to explore vehicle features, integrate schedules on a calendar, program garage door codes, and receive instructional videos and step-by-step instructions to fix flats.

• A large language model (ChatGPT) processes text (or speech with Whisper integration) to provide responses relying heavily on conversation context and an expansive data set.

• GM and Microsoft have to resolve the fact that LLMs like ChatGPT generate convincing errors when reporting factual information before fully launching their solution.

• 1982's Knight Rider had a modified Pontiac Trans Am - named KITT - that could understand natural language in conversations, as well as drive itself; GM may be missing an opportunity if they don't license the name KITT for their automotive AI assistant.
