NVIDIA Research Unveils Neuralangelo AI Model for 3D Reconstruction

• Neuralangelo, a new AI model by NVIDIA Research, turns 2D video clips into detailed 3D structures.

• Creative professionals can import these 3D objects into design applications for use in art, video game development, robotics etc.

• Neuralangelo adopts instant neural graphics primitives to capture finer details and textures from 2D videos.

• NVIDIA researchers showcased how the model could recreate objects as iconic as Michelangelo’s David and as commonplace as a flatbed truck.

Microsoft Teams Gets AI-Powered Designer and Other Updates

• Microsoft is introducing Designer, an AI-powered art-generating tool, to the free version of Teams.

• Designer uses DALL-E 2 and OpenAI’s text-to-image AI to ideate designs, with drop-downs and text boxes for further customization.

• GroupMe users can now create Teams calls from inside any new or existing group chat.

• Teams’ communities feature is now supported on Windows 11, with a new discovery feature and video recording capabilities on iOS and Android.

Co-Founder of Stability AI Sues Company for Equity Promise

• Tayab Waseem, a computational biologist, filed a lawsuit against Stability AI and its co-founder and CEO Mohammad Emad Mostaque on May 18, claiming he was promised 10% equity in the company.

• Stability AI is a leader in the generative AI industry, worth billions, and created Stable Diffusion, a text-to-image deep learning model.

• Waseem claimed he was instrumental in helping the company secure crucial funding and was cut out of the company when he returned from medical school.
